Obama asks business leaders to freeze out Russia

The White House is pressuring top executives from major firms such as Goldman Sachs, PepsiCo and Morgan Stanley to skip an international economic forum due to be held in Russia this month. In personal phone calls to CEOs, administration officials including Treasury chief Jack Lew and Commerce chief Penny Pritzker have been quietly urging executives to stay home. "They've basically been saying, 'We're not telling you what to do, but it wouldn’t look good,' " one executive reports.
