Expansion weighs on Bell Canada

Bell Canada's move to extend the reach of its broadband network to more rural communities pushed profit down 45% during the first quarter. The Canadian telecom said The Bell Better Home winback marketing program was showing positive results, noting it ended the quarter with 4.5 million residential lines. The company ended the quarter with just over 2 million broadband customers.
