Former HHS secretaries urge Congress to overhaul health care system

Former HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson says 2009 will be the "best year" to design an overhaul of the U.S. health care system. He urged the Senate Finance Committee to create a bipartisan commission to suggest solutions to Medicare spending increases and called on Congress to create risk pools to help the uninsured. Former HHS Secretary Donna Shalala pushed for a strategy to expand health care to all Americans.
