Humax introduces subscription-free HD box in U.K.

Humax has shipped an HD set-top box designed for subscribers of the new Freesat digital-TV service, the BBC-ITV joint venture that offers viewers more than 80 digital TV and radio channels with no ongoing subscription fees. The FOXSAT-HD set-top includes a seven-day electronic program guide and an Ethernet port that -- while having no functionality today -- will enable Freesat users to take advantage of future interactive features, according to Humax.
