Study: PPIs don't raise colorectal cancer risk

A study of more than 450,000 patients shows exposure to proton pump inhibitors does not appear to increase the risk of colorectal cancer. Researchers found the risk was significantly increased in patients with inflammatory bowel disease and a higher degree of comorbidity but not in patients with a positive Helicobacter pylori status.
