Doug Tatum is the co-founder and chairman emeritus of Tatum, a consulting and executive search firm in Atlanta, and author of "No Man's Land: What to Do When Your Company Is Too Big to Be Small and Too Small to Be Big." Tatum sees himself as an advocate for a "middle majority" of small companies. In an interview with The New York Times, Tatum says these high-growth small businesses should quit trying to get loans while the credit market is so tight and change their business models to ensure a profit.
