U.S. Cellular puts gas on EV-DO, brakes on LTE networks

Subscriber growth slowed at U.S. Cellular in the first quarter, and the regional carrier said it would speed development of its EV-DO network this year but delay its entry into the Long-Term Evolution-based 4G network. Executives said it would increase the number of cell sites that deliver EV-DO to reach 60% this year to upgrade subscribers from CDMA 1X networks.
