Redundant protections built into the aviation security system helped prevent the suspected Times Square bomber from escaping the country this week, but the no-fly list "failed again," according to USA TODAY. "The system has a fundamental flaw," the paper says in an editorial, noting that passengers on international flights are still cleared by the airlines rather than the TSA. "The government can't keep counting on luck, and passengers shouldn't have to."
