U.S. extends travel warning for Mexico

Ongoing drug and gang violence in Mexico has prompted the State Department to extend its travel warning for the country. "While most victims of violence are Mexican citizens associated with criminal activity, the security situation poses serious risks for U.S. citizens, as well," the warning says. A bloody war between dueling drug cartels has taken place in northern Mexico since January. Read the official travel warning for Mexico.
