Columnist Ken Blackwell said the proposal for a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol pre-clearance facility in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, would aid Etihad Airways instead of U.S. carriers. "The sum total of these bizarre favors means a considerable market advantage was awarded to a foreign state-owned company in its efforts to poach customers from U.S. companies, and all courtesy of the U.S. government," he writes.
