China posts surprise $18.16B trade surplus

China had a trade surplus of $18.16 billion in April, the Customs Administration said. The figure was considerably above the $15.1 billion the market expected. Some analysts said the figure may have been exaggerated by export firms bringing in funds disguised as trade payments to circumvent China's restrictions on inbound capital flows.
