Earthbound Farm may put itself up for sale

U.S. organic grower Earthbound Farm Organic has reportedly hired Barclays to organize a sale of the company for as much as $700 million, sources said Monday. The California-based company, which was the first to sell pre-washed bagged salads, was founded in 1984 and today sells its salads at 75% of all U.S. supermarkets.
