Pycnogenol improves outcomes in metabolic syndrome patients

Metabolic syndrome patients who took pycnogenol supplements attained significant improvements in waist size, blood pressure and good-cholesterol levels at three and six months compared with those in the placebo group, according to a study in Phytotherapy Research. Pycnogenol is an extract derived from the bark of the French maritime pine.
