Swiss solar plane completes first U.S. flight

The Swiss solar-powered airplane Solar Impulse completed its first U.S. flight from San Francisco to Phoenix. During the 650 nm flight, which took 18 hours and 18 minutes, the plane averaged 40 mph at an altitude of 10,000 feet. The next stop on the airplane's U.S. tour is Dallas.
