Three production plants to test viability of cellulosic biofuels

Three large plants due for completion next year will provide the key test of whether cellulosic biofuels can be produced on a sufficiently large and cost-effective basis, says Iowa State economist Bruce Babcock. But much will also depend on the supply of biomass from lands now devoted to the Conservation Reserve Program.
