Cox's Contour guide prompts more channel viewing

The Contour content recommendation engine, rolled out last year by Cox Communications for mobile devices and televisions, has increased the number of cable channels viewed by its subscribers, according to Cox. The company says the average number of watched channels has grown from 22 to 29 in the past year and a half. According to Nielsen, U.S. pay-TV customers watch an average of 17 channels.
