First-graders sing their way through lessons

Music is helping some students at an elementary school in Ohio learn vocabulary, science, math and more. The students learn the songs from their teacher, who plays multiple instruments and writes lyrics to accompany his lessons. "When I started my student teaching in college, I realized how powerful music was so I incorporated it," first-grade teacher Jim Ledford said. "I realized how much kids love it and how much they learn through doing that."
