NYC construction firm will pay $55M after pleading guilty to fraud charges

A construction company based in New York City will pay a $55 million penalty after entering a guilty plea to fraud charges related to overbilling of clients and improper record-keeping. The company required its subcontractors to increase their bids to clients, then obtained discounts that were withheld from clients, the Manhattan district attorney said.
