Fragmentation of "dark pools" creates challenges, issues

The secretive electronic-trading networks known as "dark pools" are becoming increasingly popular as large institutional investors seek ways to trade big blocks of stock without affecting the share price. However, that popularity has resulted in numerous new dark pools, which has made using them more time-consuming and frustrating. The networks have also prompted other issues, which might soon be addressed by regulators.
