Study: Whole-body PET/CT may increase cancer risk

Researchers at a hospital and university in Hong Kong found that, for women and young patients in particular, whole-body PET/CT may raise the risk of cancer. PET/CT "has increased patient radiation exposure and this radiation has a well-known, adverse effect on patients," said a doctor from the University of Hong Kong.
