Column: Stimulus spending will increase during the coming year

Spending from the federal economic-stimulus bill will offset declines in several construction markets, writes Reed Construction Data's Jim Haughey. However, he notes that state governments will spend funds from the federal package much slower than leaders in Washington would like. He also expects continued weakness in commercial construction as more building owners default on their loans.
