Global meltdown highlights Continent's strengths

Leaders of Germany and France were never impressed with what the U.S. had to say about deregulating markets to stimulate growth. They do not have to listen anymore, having seen the market's excesses bring the world economy to its knees. Meanwhile, U.S. President Barack Obama is making his conservative countrymen uncomfortable by suggesting that the nation would do well to borrow a few ideas from France.
