U.S. may use REITs to finance infrastructure, health care

The Obama administration is considering changes to U.S. law that would broaden the use of REITs to include the financing of public infrastructure projects, health care, education and clean energy. The idea came up in discussions with the new administration over how to fund its new initiatives, said Mark Weisdorf, the chief investment officer at J.P. Morgan Asset Management Infrastructure Investments.
