NICU makes journals for preemies to boost parent satisfaction

The NICU at Staten Island University Hospital in New York won honors for developing journals for premature infants that document their stay and make parents feel more involved in their care. Each infant also got a handmade sign with his or her first name, and nurses found that calling babies by their first names helped parents.
