Advisers who leave wire houses see pay jump, study finds

During the past five years, leaving wire houses for employment elsewhere has been a remarkably profitable move for financial advisers, according to Fidelity Investments' second annual Insights on Independence study. Since 2008, advisers who have moved from a wire house to an independent broker-dealer or a registered investment adviser have seen their compensation increase by an average of 36%, the study says.
