European banks vow to continue cost cutting

Societe Generale plans to reduce expenses by €900 million during the next three years to bolster return on equity to 10%. Meanwhile, Credit Agricole is striving to cut costs by €650 million by 2016. BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank and UBS also are working to reduce costs.
