Fed keeps up bond buying as manufacturing slows

The Federal Reserve said last week that it plans to continue to buy government bonds. Manufacturing growth in April slowed to the lowest level this year. Part of the problem is that the recession in Europe and China's slowing economy are crimping exports, according to economist Cliff Waldman of the Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation.
