NBC's airing of Kentucky Derby has big ratings finish

NBC's airing of Saturday's Kentucky Derby attracted 16.2 million viewers on average, a 9% increase from the 2012 edition. The audience was the second-biggest for the event in 24 years. Among all programming last week, only CBS' "NCIS" and "The Big Bang Theory," both prime-time shows, attracted more viewers.
