Repulsion is used to propel new, faster satellites

Repulsion is being used to move a small satellite through space. Instead of using solar sails to move the craft by reflecting photons from the sun, this sail uses wires with a positive charge to repel protons and move the craft. Researchers at Tartu University in Estonia, which helped develop the sails, hope the solar sails will propel a large craft at nearly 19 miles per second.
