Study supports aerobic exercise to reduce breast cancer risk

Women who did 30 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous aerobic exercise five days a week improved an estrogen metabolism measure closely related to breast cancer risk, University of Minnesota researchers reported in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention. The study, which used new techniques to analyze the effects of exercise, showed that women also gained lean muscle mass and decreased body-fat levels.
