U.S. to study shale gas development with South Korea

The U.S. and South Korea will study sharing shale natural gas development expertise, according to the Department of Energy. Acting Energy Secretary Daniel Poneman and South Korean Energy and Trade Minister Yoon Sang-jick held discussions and touted shale gas' role in curbing greenhouse-gas emissions and strengthening energy security. "(Both sides) noted the importance of clean energy technologies for energy security, economic competitiveness and sustainable growth while mitigating the effects of greenhouse gas emissions," the department said.
