Scientists study ways to boost biologic drugs' efficiency

Drugmakers are researching ways to make existing medicines more efficient, such as by formulating slow-release versions or extending drugs' half-lives. Boosting drug efficiency could save money and reduce side effects. Fusing biologic drugs with the blood plasma protein albumin is one promising approach; developing different types of molecular chains is another.
