Buffalo, N.Y., Schools Work Feverishly To Avoid Academic Crisis

As many as one-third of seniors at Buffalo high schools may not graduate because they haven't passed the state's required Regents math exam, a report says. The district is encouraging students to take advantage of extra help and tutoring before the final test on June 19, but skeptics say it is possible that a large number could fail.
