Illinois Makes Teachers Pass Tests

The Illinois state legislature yesterday passed a bill that would require teachers to pass a basic skills test before being able to student teach or enter college education programs. The legislation comes after a Chicago Sun-Times investigation on teachers who failed eigth-grade level skills tests.
