Contractor rushes to rebuild collapsed Oakland connector

Contractor C.C. Myers Inc. started its high-profile project to replace the collapsed Interstate 580 connector in Oakland, Calif., within minutes of signing the $867,000 contract for the project. Commuters continue to adjust, and the Bay Area Rapid Transit system announced that last week was the busiest in the system's 35-year history.
