Three large carriers boost fuel surcharges

American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines boosted round-trip ticket prices by $20 in an effort to offset the soaring price of jet fuel. The increase applies to most domestic routes. Airlines have also added fees for checking a second bag and are charging for in-flight meals to compensate for fuel costs.
