Insurance executives remain concerned about economy, survey finds

Although poor economic conditions remain a top concern in the insurance industry this year, according to a survey by Munich, the number of insurance executives who are worried about the poor economy dropped to 69% from 85% in the same survey last year. Economic concerns are "perhaps tempered by the fact that companies are much better capitalized than they were last year at this time," said a Munich analyst, adding that the "[s]urplus is back, and that is very comforting to CEOs."
