Lufthansa to use biofuels on some flights within 2 years, CEO says

Lufthansa aims to start mixing biofuels with conventional fuel on some of its flights within two years in an effort to reduce rising fuel costs, according to CEO Wolfgang Mayrhuber. The German carrier has made no plans to use biofuels on test flights, intending to wait until it can use biofuels regularly on some routes to gather data over time, Mayrhuber said.
