Intensive obesity program for girls not effective, study finds

Data on 357 lower-income, eighth-grade Australian girls showed those who underwent an intensive school-based obesity-prevention program did not have a better diet, physical activity levels or body weight after a year compared with those who did not receive the intervention. The findings appear in the Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine.
