Interior green-lights Anadarko's Uinta Basin drilling project

After more than four years, Anadarko Petroleum secured the Department of the Interior's approval to drill 3,675 natural gas wells in the Uinta Basin in Utah. The company seeks to direct $10 billion over the next 10 years to the project, generating up to 2,900 jobs and significantly increasing the area's gas output. The clearance is "very positive news," but the industry still wants "more of a streamlined process," said Erik Milito, upstream director at the American Petroleum Institute.
