Type 1 diabetes remission seen with immune cell treatment

A study in Science Translational Medicine found mice with type 1 diabetes that received immune cell therapy to inhibit immune attack and generate new insulin-producing cells attained remission of their disease. The approach may potentially address type 1 diabetes in people, a researcher said.
