At the 2013 Responsible Care Conference and Expo this week, the American Chemistry Council honored 17 of its member companies for implementing energy-efficiency improvements in 2012. ACC presented a total of 66 awards to these companies, 10 of which were deemed programs of "Exceptional Merit." The total annual energy savings of the winning projects was 10.6 trillion BTUs, enough to power all the homes in a city the size of Bangor, Maine for a year.
