Americans growing more tolerant, poll finds

Clear majorities of Americans support NBA player Jason Collins' decision to come out, favor allowing same-sex couples to wed and oppose bans on openly gay Boy Scouts and Scout leaders, according to a new ABC News/Washington Post poll. Support for LGBT equality is greatest among young adults, Democrats and Independents. Older Americans and Republicans are least likely to support marriage equality, the poll found.
