China inflation of 2.4% in April remains below target

China's annual pace of consumer inflation accelerated to 2.4% in April but came in well under the government's 3.5% target for the year. Meanwhile, the producer price index fell 2.6% last month, accelerating from a 1.9% drop in March as prices of raw materials eased.
