Ill. school innovates with blended-learning approach

Huntley High School in Illinois incorporates a blended-learning approach of independent, self-paced online assignments and traditional classroom learning and testing. Anne Pasco, the school's blended learning/educational technology department chairwoman, has been working on the model for two years and says innovations are incorporated as needed. "It is modeled after [college] with the safety net of high school," said Pasco, who teaches Advanced Placement U.S. history.
