Qualcomm backs in-flight Wi-Fi using satellite airwaves

Qualcomm is asking the Federal Communications Commission to allow airlines to use satellite airwaves for in-flight Wi-Fi. "Mobile broadband demand on board aircraft is exploding -- just as much, if not more so, than it is on the ground," Qualcomm said in a regulatory filing.
