It's tempting to keep tweaking your business plan until it's perfect, but you need to get feedback from potential customers as soon as possible if you want to succeed, writes Alison Johnston. Also, don't focus too long on writing a business plan. After working out the basics, "outline the simplest way that you can find out if your future product is something that people will actually use," she writes. If your company doesn't make a big splash right away, look for new ways to reach customers.
