Air Force: Limiting launch buys to ULA is a "good deal"

The Air Force is defending its choice to purchase launch services solely from United Launch Alliance in the face of a suit filed by SpaceX against the practice. The sole-source contract is a "good deal" for taxpayers, said the Air Force, adding that when it was time for it to obligate its contract funds, there were no other companies certified to participate. SpaceX argues if the Air Force would have waited to sign the contract it would have been able to compete for the job.
