Interpublic Group's loss widens

Advertising holding company Interpublic Group, whose agencies include McCann-Erickson and Deutsch, reported a $16.9 million loss for the year's first quarter, compared with a $8.6 million loss for the same period in 2003. The company said the Securities and Exchange Commission is continuing to investigate in connection with accounting issues that were revealed in 2002.
