Washington state to delay math, science exit-exam requirements

Washington's governor this week vetoed end-of-course alternatives to state graduation tests similar to those recently passed into law in Texas, but said students would not need to pass the math and science sections of the exam to graduate until 2013. Next year's graduates must still pass the exam's reading and writing sections or approved alternatives.
